We make learning fun, relevant, and interactive

We accomplish this by translating our teaching targets to the child's level and presenting lessons through games that harness the same dynamics that drive play behavior. These learning games revolve around physical activities and manipulatives that make children active participants in learning. All age groups rotate between structured activities and "free play," with the degree of structure increasing as children get older.

After 18 years, we still get better every month.

The heart of our program is a "theme" approach which is constantly refined by our teachers who choreograph all our activities around a central subject (rotating between core concepts like "Home, sweet, home" and "Feelings" to adventures like "Castles, Kings, & Fairytales" and "Dinosaurs"). We blend together related games, stories, songs, dance, crafts, puzzles, drama exercises, DVDs, software and spectacular field trips (past destinations have included the NYC Museum of Natural History, the Bronx Zoo, and the Novins Planetarium). Every time a theme is repeated, it is improved by teachers who review previous calandars and identify what worked best and replace weak items with fresh ideas from our extensive resource library. This evolutionary process guarantees perpetual improvements.

Our daily activities include "calendar," story time, craft projects, music, dance/movement, playground time, and computers but the details change each month as activites are synchronized with theme topics. Older children spend 30 minutes/day on academics.

Academics

We have an 18 year track record proving that our program enables every child to have outstanding academic performance. Our benchmarks are one year ahead of public schools with our Pre-K children learning all the academic skills taught in Kindergarten. Most importantly, children accomplish these objectives while spending as little as 1 1/2 hours per week on academics. We use "Land of the Letter People," "Saxon Phonics," and "the Oxford Reading Tree" to teach reading and "the Saxon Math Program" to teach arithmatic.

Physical Education

Simple physical accomplishments (running, jumping, etc) are an essential part of building self-esteem. For this reason our Phys Ed program is at the heart of many of our activities.
